When it comes to Personal training, weight loss/ Fat Loss solutions, and transforming your health, body, there is no doubt but a lot of confusion still out there, in the jersey city, Tribeca and the NYC area. We still see a ton of people on cardio machines more than ever. This could be then a question of lack of education and or a lack of explanation on behalf of the professionals.

We will use the example of a bride to be, someone who comes to us for personal training in the jersey city, Tribeca, NYC area, a working professional, who spends roughly about 40 to 50 hours behind a desk and has to cater her training program to her lifestyle.

The brides goals are to get in shape, achieve a lean, well toned physique and cater it to the dress she has in mind, or vice versa- develop the physique to cater to her dream dress.

Asides from the emotional investment- which drives her to work very hard and stick to a program, lets talk about the technical aspect of her workout program.

The #1 thing we introduce her to is a full body resistance training program. #2- is a sound nutrition program. This we have noticed is the harder thing to modify as most people like to train for a reason that is emotionally compelling, but to give up their favrioute treats and alcohol is the bigger dragon to slay! We understand this!

Lets address the first one- The personal training program. We don’t focus much on cardio. Cardiovascular reason, no doubt, is very important. The benefits are-

  1. Great for the aerobic conditioning.
  2. Great for the heart, lungs, and burn some fat.

However, will this develop well toned, leaner, tighter physique in a wedding dress?

I believe you don’t need me to tell you what the answer is to that. So, then what is a resistance training program consist of?

A full body, using compound sets, multi-jointed exercises, pushing the body into a uncomfortable state and doing this better and consistently right till the wedding day.

 

Here are a few examples. However, all training programs have to be modified and taught properly to the student.
